Hi, Jim and Jay Kleeman left for Chicago on Sunday afternoon while Bill Kalkman and I began our journey home. We broke off chasing the steam excursions run for the rail fest in mid afternoon and drove to Findlay, OH, where we spent the night.
We began our last day by heading for Leipsic, OH. The route paralleled NS and we encountered two eastbound trains,
one east of McComb, OH and
one passing through McComb (above and below).
An empty coal train was first up through Leipsic.
Shortly after the coal train cleared NS L75 crossed CSX and took the siding.
This train of cushion coil cars then backed into a large coating plant in Leipsic (above and below).
Our final train in Leipsic was a northbound CSX manifest.
Our next stop was Deshler, OH where CSX's Chicago line crosses the former B&O route between Cincinnati, Toledo and Detroit. We spotted Oil train K082 west of town and
caught it when it stopped at the signals just west of the diamond (above and below).
After awhile the train continued east.
Next up was an eastbound stack train.
After this north bound coal train took the connection to head west we headed east.
After lunch we stopped one final time, at Republic, Ohio. Here we caught an eastbound and
a westbound passing an elevator complex (above and below).
Thanks for looking.
