Sayonara KCS - 2

Hi, We spent the night in Jackson, MS and began our day with a tour of the yard.

At the east end of the yard we found this  eastbound ready to leave so after getting a few static shots we headed east looking for a second location.

At Whitefield, MS we found an open spot

with a high/wide detector.

At this point we headed west as I really wanted a photo of a train crossing the Mississippi River from a park overlooking the bridge. We waited at least 3 1/2 hours and the only train across the bridge was this westbound (above and below).

Even the DPU was facing in the wrong direction.

Continuing west we came across a Union Pacific train with reasonably clean power in Monroe, LA. It stopped for a crew change allowing us to get ahead for this, the final photo of the day. We spent the night in Shreveport, LA

Thanks for looking.
