Railfan trip to New England

Hi, Friend Jim Kleeman and I began our trip on April 28 with the main objective of photographing the Central Maine & Quebec beginning on May 1. Our plan was to remain in Maine until we were satisfied with our coverage, however, more about that in a later post.

Our first stop was Bear Mountain, New York. Here we photographed Metro North and Amtrak trains across the Hudson River (above and three below) from the old steamboat dock.

We then moved about a mile north to Fort Montgomery. A foot bridge across Popolopen Creek was built after my last photo visit so I wanted to try it out. We shot Q439 (above and below) and

Q272 (above and below).

On Sunday we caught up with Providence and Worcester's WOGR in Gardner, MA.

We chased the train photographing it south of Gardner (above and below),

at Princeton and

at Holden.

We then drove into Worcester as I wanted to see the station. We were surprised we beat the WOGR here.

We walked around the station and photographed an MBTA train at the platform and

leaving for Boston (above and below). The facility to the right is a CSX intermodal yard.

After the MBTA train left a CSX intermodal arrived from the west (above and two below).

Before we quit for the day we explored the interior of the station (above and two below).

Thanks for looking
