Sayonara KCS - 7

Hi, Monday, May 2 dawned cloudy with periods of rain. We decided to spend most of the day photographing the Monet turn on the Arkansas & Missouri. Power was a set of three SD70ACes. Fortunately the leader had the as delivered A&M paint. The second unit, still in the Retro Belle paint scheme, had been purchased from the KCS while the third unit had been wrecked early in it's career on the A&M and was painted in a "dip job" red scheme.

Our first location was at Rogers, AR in the rain. From here we were able to photograph the train (not all locations included) at

Avoca, AR,

Garfield, AR,

Seligman, MO

and Purdy, MO (above and below) before reaching Monet.

In Monet, MO we found a BNSF train with a trio of GP40s switching.

When the Monet turn started south we shot it switching Monet Concrete (above and below).

At this point we headed back to the KCS where we found this BNSF train of coal empties at Carl Jcn., MO (above and below).

When the train got underway we were able to shoot the DPUs.

The train took the siding at South Asbury, MO providing one more opportunity to photograph the DPUs (above and below).

Thanks for looking.
