Colombia River Gorge - 7

Hi, Sunday was probably our best day.  Obviously, there were not any work windows and the weather stayed clear.  Once again, we missed our morning shot at Lake Rowland.  However, Stan remembered a location at Maryhill, WA and we went there for this eastbound.

Next we returned west to North Dalles and caught a second eastbound off the bridge to The Dalles, OR.

We then chased the above train east, setting up at Goodnoe, WA.  From the radio we learned that the westbound Portland section of the Empire Builder would come through first,

followed by the train we had chased here.

We got one last shot east of East Brady.

Returning back west we headed into Towal where we got this westbound grain train

with a pair of DPUs,
an eastbound stack train with a decent warbonnet,

another westbound grain train which took the siding and blocked the shot of the next eastbound train, and

a final eastbound which met the second grain train here.

After lunch we headed over to Lyle for this eastbound manifest.

Shortly after the manifest passed a coal train headed west.

We gave chase and got a shot of the train and

its DPUs at Bingen siding.

Then it was back to Lake Rowland to hopefully improve on what we had shot there previously.

Our final shot was a few miles west of Dallesport, WA.

I hope you enjoyed the photos.  Bob
